We do our best to continuously provide new features for our users.
For us, it’s not just about adding cells to a spreadsheet, but about really making sure our users can push the utility of their links — all at the same price.
But this quarter was especially productive.
Over the last three months, we announced and implemented 7 major updates that significantly improve and expand Short.io’s feature set into something that can provide our users with even more value.
Here’s everything we did.
Conversion tracking
Short links are great, but we knew we could make them even more useful.
This year, we added conversion tracking functionality to Short.io, allowing you to see exactly how your users interact with your links.
Now, you can measure links to articles, websites, video, and more — and see when and why they perform better.

End-to-end encryption
Keeping your links safe also became much easier.
With just a single click, you can now make sure your links are fully encrypted, and that no one except you and whoever you send them to has access — not even us.

Improved Teams UI
Sometimes, an improved feature is just as good as a brand new one.
This update comes with not only visual updates, but functional ones as well, with Geo and Campaign templates now usable by entire teams at once.

Robots.txt granular permissions
Crawlers can wreak all sorts of havoc if they’re not kept in check, but they are also very beneficial when needed.
We implemented a way to easily choose whether you want crawlers — including AI crawlers — to have access to your pages. You can both choose individual crawlers to keep and remove, and you can also set it up so multiple domains use the same Robots.txt file.
This feature has actually improved significantly since we announced it, and due to some in-house black magic, Short.io now has improved detection — which means more accurate results and less false positives overall.

Twice the loading speed
Because we know each of your users’ clicks is important to you, we also made sure your clicks mean more as well.
All Short.io pages now load twice as fast, and this is on top of previous improvements in performance.

MCP support
MCP is an incredibly powerful protocol that’s sure to only get more useful and relevant in the coming months and years.
For short links, you don’t have to wait — Short.io’s API can now be integrated with ChatGPT, Visual Studio Code, Claude, and a lot more.
Use it to create and search through links, order them by popularity, or utilize them as part of a larger, more complex chain of actions.

Browser, iOS, Android SDKs
We also created SDKs for our API.
Now, you can not only generate short links and handle universal links, but also make the most of them — all while keeping your secret key safe.
Conversion tracking for universal links is also coming soon.

What’s next?
Don’t worry, our next quarter is just as ambitious.
While all these updates are important in their own right, for us, they’re just one step toward making Short.io the best it can possibly be.
We’re already well underway working on new features that we’re really excited about, and we can’t wait for you to see them.
Stick around, because 2025 is going to be our most exciting year yet.
