Launched this month, Shortio.cn is our new Short.io subsidiary, aimed at helping Mainland China keep links short.
Short.io already works in Mainland China, but there were a few challenges our users were facing.
In order to fully operate in the region, companies need a license — without one, there’s no guarantee a website will be operational indefinitely.
That can, unfortunately, mean that our users’ short links in the region are potentially susceptible to website downtime.
Which is why we’re so excited that now, Shortio.cn is fully licensed!
The benefits?
All the data we use for shortio.cn is entirely located in Mainland China, and no data gets sent to servers outside the country.
Moreover, we’re using Alibaba Cloud — Mainland China’s largest cloud hosting provider, which also fully adheres to requirements. In addition, our AI functionality uses a Qwen model
Don’t worry about the differences, either.
Shortio.cn comes with all the same features you’re already familiar with, and the exact same quality of support.
This new platform also allows us to get links to you even faster.
A redirect using Short.io’s global website takes about 2 seconds — with shortio.cn, users within Mainland China can enjoy redirects of just 20 milliseconds.
