Keeping track of every change to your links — creation, deletion, or updating — can be difficult for one person.

If you have a team of dozens of people?

Impossible.

That’s why we created the “Audit” feature.

You can find “Audit” under the “Settings” menu in the navbar.

“Audit” lets you keep track of every change to every link in real time.

☝️
If you’re using the Free, Hobby, or Pro plans, you’ll only be able to see your own changes.
✌️
If you’re using a Team or Enterprise plan, you can follow the changes of your entire team.

Here’s exactly what you can track:

  • Type of action executed
  • When the action was executed
  • Who performed the action
  • Which features were affected by the action

Pretty useful, right?

However, up until now, that was exclusively an Enterprise feature.

Why? Simple. We assumed it’s only relevant for way larger companies.

But that’s not fully true, is it? Even someone on our Team plan can make use of it.

And even if it’s just you, on your own — what if you need to reference what you did a couple months back?

Why did we make it available for everyone?

There’s a noble reason and kind of a dumb reason.

  1. We have a rule — provide all security features to all users, regardless of plan. For us, security is not up for debate. Every single user needs to stay protected.

  1. A bit embarrassing, but we get users reaching out to ask about losing links — links they’ve actually deleted themselves. With access to the “Audit” feature, we can now point our users in the right direction.

Just to reiterate:

All security features are and always will be free

If our users aren’t safe, we’re not doing our job.

It took a minute to figure out that the “Audit” feature is related to security, though.

Why?

Because accessing your project’s history is an essential feature.

For teams, it can help you oversee any changes you haven’t approved, whether that’s a mistake or a malicious action.

But for individuals, it makes sense, too. Tracing your actions can visualize mistakes.

This is relevant for maintaining accountability and safety, but it can also help you notice changes you didn’t initiate yourself.

Either way? It’s another tool in your toolkit you can use to stay safe.
