Dedicated IP for Enterprise — 207.174.61.31

Every shortlink carries a reputation. Enterprise now comes with a dedicated one.

Spam filters, security scanners, browser safe-browsing lists, corporate firewalls — they all keep score on where your links come from. And that score decides whether your links land clean or get flagged on the way to the click.

Short.io, by necessity, shares just one IP. And with all IPv4 addresses, there’s a limited number of them to go around.

People who abuse a system can ruin things for everybody else on it — what’s known as “noisy neighbors”.

We wrote about this last year, when we migrated from using v.short.gy to transparentlink.co — precisely to ensure users’ reputation remains safe in front of Google Ads.

Because of this change, Google Ads can now see individual users’ subdomains. In short, it could punish individual “noisy neighbors” without affecting anyone who hasn’t acted in a malicious way.

So, at least when it comes to ads, you’re already good.

But what if you wanted an extra layer of protection?

A dedicated IP has limited impact in terms of not being blocked by spam filters or security scanners, so the primary use case is your own.

If your organization works with specific allowlists in their corporate firewalls/proxies, a dedicated, allowlisted IP makes a lot more sense than one that features tens of thousands of other users.

To make use of an Enterprise IP, simply set your primary IP as 207.174.61.31.

Now available on Short.io Enterprise.
